SeanGustafson-Portrait.jpg: 1210x1445, 251k (September 15, 2012, at 02:10 PM)

Sean Gustafson is a final year PhD student and researcher at the Human-Computer Interaction Lab of the Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam, Germany and is supervised by Prof. Dr. Patrick Baudisch.

His PhD research centers on Imaginary Interfaces, extremely small mobile devices with have no visual feedback. Sean has also worked on alternative input modalities for mobile devices (e.g., gestures, pressure, tilt) and small screen map interfaces.

Sean holds Bachelor and Master's degrees in Computer Science from the University of Manitoba in his home town of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. His Master's thesis was supervised by Dr. Pourang Irani at the University of Manitoba HCI Lab. Before pursuing his PhD he was an embedded systems software developer specializing in consumer electronics and medical devices using the QNX Real-time OS.
