Books read in 2004
| Platform by Michel Houellebecq
- Finished Dec.19/2004
- This was an excellent novel, I liked it.
|
| Clients for Life by Jagdish Sheth and Andrew Sobel
- Finished Nov.11/2004
- I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The advice on what makes a good advisor is more general than that. The book offers ideas on what qualities make a successful person.
- The book also offered a lot of insight into the professional lives of executives. As well as lots of historical references to important advisors of the past.

| How to Work a Room by Susan Roanne
- Finished Oct.31/2004
- I did not enjoy the book. The author is cheesy and msny of her suggestions are too tacky for me to consider them. I did not find her interesting at all.
- I am glad I read it but I won't read any of her other books.

| Sleeping with the Devil by Robert Baer
- Finished Oct/2004
- This is a great book. It gave me insight into middle east politics, the workings of the CIA, and US foreign policy.
|
| Microserfs by Douglas Coupland
- Finished Oct/2004
- Borrowed from Jeremy P.
- Excellent fiction describing the lives of mid 90's dot com programmers.
- Made me wonder if the people I have met that acted like this have developed those habits because of this book.
- I should read more of Douglas Coupland.
|
| Waltzing with Bears by Tom DeMarco & Timothy Lister
- Finished Sept/2004
- "Managing Risk on Software Projects"
- This book was great. It introduced me to the idea of thinking and planning for what could go wrong.
- Using the knowledge in this book is essential for running a professional software project.
